Flush DNS and Winsock Reset

  • Updated
A customer service agent may ask you to flush your DNS cache and/or perform a winsock reset. That can resolve certain connection-related issues, like not being able to resolve a store URL.

To do so on a PC:

  1. Close the MTG Arena client.
  2. Open a Windows command prompt (cmd.exe) as an administrator.
  3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter.
  4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press enter.
  5. Type ipconfig /release and press enter.
  6. Type ipconfig /renew and press enter.
  7. Type netsh winsock reset and press enter.
  8. Restart your computer and launch the MTG Arena client.

To do so on a Mac:

  1. Open a terminal window from Applications > Utilities. You could also press Command + Space and searching for Terminal.
  2. From there, input the command for flushing your cache. The command you use is different depending on your Mac OS version.
