Magic: The Gathering Foundations is released!
We’re excited to support encouraging players to attend the new Magic Academy event series being hosted at a WPN near you! Brand new (as well as existing) players who attend either (or both!) events will automatically receive inbox rewards in MTG Arena. Use the Store Locator to find a Magic Academy event near you!

Notable Bug Fixes

Cancelling a store purchase will no longer stop the “Go to Deals” button on the Featured store tab from working.
In some cases, a player disconnected during a game, and when they reconnected would be brought back to the Home scene. Now in these cases the client will recheck the pairing data, and if applicable find their game prior to the disconnect, and again virtually sit them down across from the proper opponent.
Players who already have a Wizards account but had yet to play MT Arena will now be taken to the tutorial upon their first login, rather than receiving an erroneous “Your client version isn’t available.” error.

With this release, we’re updating our new player experience (NPE) booster pack rewards to Magic: The Gathering Foundations packs.
When appropriate, importing a deck will swap unowned printings for printings collected by the player.

Fixed an issue where players that created an account on WPN would run into an error when first attempting to log into MTG Arena.
Fixed an issue where under certain conditions, players were able to enter a best of three Friendly Brawl match.

Enchanting an opponent’s Balustrade Wurm with Duskmourn’s Domination was not removing Haste. Now it slows the Wurm down appropriately.
There was an issue where, with Omniscience out, if there was a card that didn’t have legal targets for its unkicked ability, but DID have one or more legal targets for the kicked version (think Bloodchief’s Thirst), it would miss that this was legal and would add fail to add stops.
Using Return the Favor to copy the activated ability granted to an opponent’s creature in the graveyard by Assemble from Parts was causing Bad Outcomes. Now Assemble From Parts has errata and everything is fine.
There’s now a window to respond with things like mana abilities that don’t do anything while your opponent has cards that care about tapped or untappedness on the stack. So feel free to tap your Llanowar Elves to avoid Split Up.
The max character width for amounts of gained and lost life is now wider than 2. If you're planning to heal like 2000 life in one go, great news for you, specifically.
