Game Update Highlights
- Outlaws of Thunder Junction is now available! Join Jace, Vraska, and a whole crew of Multiverse badies to rustle up some trouble. Breaking News, Big Scores, and all the usual goodies like Set Mastery (with the return of Phrases!), new limited formats, new cosmetics, and more!
- We’ve added VFX for reach. It’s visually louder on your opponent’s creatures than your own. If you have feedback on this, let me know.
- If you relied on sneaky reach and opponents not noticing one of your creatures can block flyers, sorry pal.
General
New Player Experiecne
- As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the new player experience, we’ve made changes to how we onboard players between the Tutorial and Unlocking all Play Modes.
Gameplay
- Mobile devices should now display Hexproof and Protection VFX over the player’s avatar when the player themself has the effect.
- The Cost Modified hanger for split cards now more clearly delineates the cost per side.
- Midnight Clock now always gives you a stop before resolving the 12 counter trigger, so you can cast stuff or just tap it for mana or whatever.
- Finally, justice for people playing Rusko!
Bug Fixes
General
- Fixed an issue where Sparky would hang out in the middle of Codex of the Multiverse instead of on the right side of the screen.
- Fixed an issue where the Color Challenge quest reward was given to the player silently after winning a match, instead of alongside a rewards popup.
- Fixed an issue where the player was unable to send another Friend Challenge after cancelling an initial one until restarting the game.
Gameplay
- There was a crash that involved using Kami of Transmutation to make a battle an artifact, then make the artifact a creature, then Arcane Adaptation to make it a creature type, then Roaming Throne with that creature type, then removing counters from the battle. I guess mostly I’m hoping this was curiosity and not malice.
- Fixed an issue where identical tokens that both gained an ability, but with different durations were stacking, when they should not.
- Floating mana before casting a Delve spell was causing the client to lock up. This was, believe it or not, not intentional. It’s been fixed.
- Fixed an issue where creatures with Connive (mostly you’re all just playing Ledger Shredder, but also the other ones) who get phased out while the Connive trigger is on the stack were still getting their +1/+1 counter. This has been fixed.
- Sheoldred, The Apocalypse was still giving opponents a stop at the beginning of their upkeep while cloaked. She is now appropriately sneaky.
- Fixed an issue where if you had Ashiok, Wicked Manipulator in play and put two shock lands into play untapped simultaneously, Ashiok was only exiling 2 cards when it should be four.
- Perpetually changed mana costs were impacting the predicted cost of casting creatures face down. They don’t actually change them, and now autotap understands this.
- Chitinous Crawler was listing both options from Adventure Cards with “Activate Ability”. Now it doesn’t.
- Lands with unique frames were sometimes showing the owner partial elements while face down. That was confusing and bad and doesn’t happen anymore.
- Cards with multiple ways of turning face up sometimes didn’t display art for every method in the browser. At last, you can see the same art twice again.
- Flourishing Bloom-Kin was triggering twice when Delney, Streetwise Lookout was in play and you had 3 or more forests. They are no longer in cahoots.
- Casting disguise creatures with multiple Assemble the Players in play was locking out the client. Now you’re free to proceed.
- Chorus cards were having A Bunch of Issues™. They should be back in key.
- Alaundo the Seer was not conferring Haste as it should have. Now it do.
- Autotap now understands that some artifacts can both be tapped for Improvise and then sacrificed for mana.
- Permanents with Ward VFX weren’t showing Won’t Untap VFX. We now see all the VFX together, happy.
- Fixed an issue where Planeswalkers could all use Kasmina, Enigma Sage’s abilities at instant speed if Teferi, Master of Time was in play. It was cool of Teferi to share, but not so cool that we’re letting it stay.
- Siege hangers got wonked out and said the wrong player was the protector. Fixed!
- Fixed an issue with copying abilities from Kitesail Larcenist. Copy away!
- Graveyard Glutton and similar cards were causing multiple life gain events when it should have been rolled into one. Fixed!
- Cards exiled with Exquisite Taste now display as hiding information from the opponent.
- Lands exiled by Tezzeret’s Reckoning weren’t visible to the opponent. Now they are.
- VFX for Disguise and Morph were playing in the hand after cancelling a cast from library. It was weird. Now it’s very normal.
- World Breaker’s frame details got switched around and it was showing as Red-but-actually-colorless. It is now Green-but-actually-colorless.
- Bite Down on Crime is no longer annoying in the specific way that it was. I’m sorry and you’re welcome.
- If you had an Omniscience and two One with the Multiverses going, it was using One with the Multiverse when you picked Omniscience.
- I guess my suggestion here is “why don’t you just win the game now?” Regardless, it’s been fixed.
- Fixed an issue where some enchantments or artifact row permanents would have the icon tray icons overlap on the far left.
- Face down creatures with perpetual modifications no longer display that they have been modified on the front face.
- We fixed the fact that, if a player had the text that resolves to a mana symbol in their username it was displaying as mana SPECIFICALLY in On An Adventure hangers.
- Deflecting Palm now shows the chosen source.
- There was a brief period where the automated opponent for debug mode was using debug commands.
- This was never public facing, but it was very funny. It doesn’t do that anymore.
