Patch Notes - 2026.59.0

  • Updated

Collected Changes

  • Alchemy: Strixhaven is now available to explore 30 new, digital-only cards!

Notable Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where you couldn't add cards to your deck in the horizontal limited deckbuilder if the last card you picked in a draft was dragged into your sideboard.
  • Fixed an issue where the quest tracker could temporarily disappear until reloading the page for players who haven’t unlocked all game modes.
  • Fixed an issue where managing to enter a Challenge match with an invalid deck would cause the client to hang indefinitely.
  • Fixed an issue where attempting to equip Companion cosmetics on mobile directly from the Deck Details page occasionally showed a page with no Companion cosmetics.

Game Updates

  • Deckbuilder search now has a release date filter. You can now add "date=MM/DD/YYYY" to filter to cards released on that date.
    • Other numeric operators, such as "<", ">=" and "!=" can be used to further filter to cards released before, after, or not on that date.
    • International date formats, such as "YYYY-MM-DD" and "DD-MM-YYYY" are also supported.
    • "d", "release", and "rel" can be used in place of "date" when querying.
  • You can now add "?reprint" to the search bar in the deckbuilder to only display cards that have been printed once before on Magic the Gathering: Arena.
  • Added an "Edit Deck" button directly on the Deck Import confirmation prompt so that allows you to immediately jump into editing your newly imported deck.
  • When setting a Companion during limited deckbuilding, the game will now immediately highlight which cards in your pool are not compatible with that companion.
  • Improved contrast on UI elements on the Mastery page to improve text legibility.

Gameplay

  • Cards that intensify by 1 now just say “intensifies” with the “by 1” being implicit.
  • We’ve also removed Starting Intensity 0 from cards that start at 0.
  • Brawl matchmaking has been updated to better find opponents based on similar Commander strength.

Bugs

  • Copying permanent spells cast with Warp was exiling the copy at the end of the turn. It shouldn’t have been, and now it doesn’t.
  • We have new Korean translations for Sneak and Discover, as they previously shared translations with Blitz and Seek, respectively.
  • Autotap was suggesting that you could cast cards with X in the cost for X=0 even if the card said “X can’t be 0”. Apologies, as ever, Autotap does not know how to play Magic.
  • The Overlord cycle no longer defaults to showing the impending cost in hand by default. I know you’re mostly casting it

General Notes

  • Minor upgrade to a Unity library

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where certain particle effects from the battlefield would appear in the deckbuilder when sideboarding during a Best-of-3 match.
  • Fixed an issue where players would occasionally not get new player quest reward notifications.
  • Adjusted the size and positioning of elements of the "Decks" tab on mobile to make elements near the bottom of the page easier to interact with.
  • Fixed an issue where, in limited, moving an applied Preferred Printing card style from the main deck to the sideboard would revert the visual to the base printing.
  • Fixed an issue where the colorless cards with color-specific cycling abilities, such the MH3 Landscape cycle, affected the displayed color identity of the deck even when in the sideboard.
  • Fixed an issue where smart quotes didn't work in deckbuilder search, which made it difficult for players on mobile to perform advanced search queries. Smart quotes should now work just like straight quotes.
  • Fixed an issue where the some folders in the Decks screen had a large unintended gap between the folder header and the decks themselves.
  • Adjusted the positioning of equipped Titles and Commander names on the "VS" splash to make them more legible and more aligned.
  • Fixed an issue where hitting the back button in the Season Rewards screen brought players to the Title equip screen… for some reason.
  • Fixed an issue where initiating a drag of the same card multiple times in draft, but never dragging it all the way to the deck or sideboard, caused inconsistent card highlighting behavior.
  • Deck box highlighting in the deckbuilder now behaves more consistently across favorited and non-favorited decks.
  • Fixed an issue on the Color Challenge "loss hint" screen where some elements were not being rendered on the correct layer.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Restricted in Timeless" pop-up screen was missing text.
  • Fixed an issue where the purchase confirmation screen for card styles showed the card style icon on an incorrect layer.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Set Default" button for Cosmetics had an unintended line break in Japanese.
  • Fixed an issue where certain buttons on the Credits page appeared to have stretched textures.
