Optimizing your GPU

In order to optimize your experience running the client, you may have to force your computer to utilize it's more powerful GPU rather than its integrated graphics. Below are some basic steps to help optimize your experience.

Surface Pro

Keep your Surface Pro docked. The more powerful NVIDIA GPU is housed in the docking station, so when you undock you can only run the game on Integrated Graphics.

Make sure that your NVIDIA GPU drivers are all up to date.

  1. Open Start Menu and type ‘Device Manager’
  2. Expand selection ‘Display Adapters’
  3. Select ‘NVIDIA GPU’
  4. This should add new options to the Tool bar. The third option from the right should be ‘Update Driver Software’.
  5. Click the ‘Update Driver Software’ button.
  6. Select ‘Search automatically for updated driver software’

 

While docked you can assure that the Beta product is utilizing your NVIDIA GPU by following these steps:

  1. Open Start Menu and type ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’
  2. Select ‘Manage 3D Settings’
  3. Select ‘Program Settings’ tab.
  4. Find ‘MTGALauncher’ and Click arrow to expand list.
  5. Select ‘High-performance NVIDIA processor’

 

If you do not see ‘MTGALauncher’ within the list:

  1. Select ‘Add’
  2. Navigate to ‘MTGALauncher’
  3. Select ‘High-performance NVIDIA processor’
