Patch Notes - 2024.38.00

Game Update Highlights

  • Modern Horizons 3 arrives on Arena! This Historic and Timeless set brings new tools, new strategies, and new takes on tons of Magic favorites to Arena. Check out new limited formats, packs in the store, and cosmetics.
  • Introducing the Psychic Frog’s Horizon Hideaway, a limited-time MTG Arena Store tab featuring special Modern Horizons 3 rewards like packs, avatars, sleeves, and more! You can unlock the Horizon Hideaway with the 2,800 gems entry and then begin to redeem rewards with earned tickets from Daily Quests and Daily Wins. Tickets will be available to earn starting with the release of Modern Horizons 3 on June 11th until July 30th with the release of Bloomburrow. For more details, see here: Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway on MTG Arena (wizards.com)
  • The Card Styles Button has returned with some updated functionality. Toggling on the Card Styles button located in the upper-right corner of the deck builder will show all available card styles and printings for your deck at once. This should allow easier customization for how you’d like to visualize the components of your deck.

Bug Fixes

General

  • When Temporarily Banning a card, Card Styles of the card will also receive the red overlay communicating their temporary banned state.
  • Sparky no longer teleports to different locations throughout her tour of the features in the game.

Gameplay

  • Grinning Ignus is back to giving the right amount of mana. Grinning Ingus continues to not exist. Is there a more mispronounced Magic card? (ed: I know a chef that would like a word)
  • Mana Drain wasn’t producing mana after countering Nexus of Fate. Now it does!
  • Fixed an issue with Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief where spells that could target something else but weren’t didn’t get copied for Ivy. Repulsive Mutation now works how you wanted.
  • The third mode of One Last Job was letting people choose invalid targets (generally creatures with protection). Now it doesn’t.
  • Face down shapeshifters with ETBs were still triggering. Moritte has been chilled out.
  • Molten Impact’s boon was doing weird stuff. If you play Gladiator you already knew, and if you don’t you probably don’t care. Anyway, it’s fixed.
  • Addressed an issue with changed supertypes modifying types.
  • There was a crash that involved being Hexproof, controlling the other player, and then playing their Gaea’s Blessing. Now you can play out this very common scenario.
  • Grenzo losing abilities with Heist on the stack no longer causes issues.
  • Closing and reopening the cast browser for Adventure cards you’re casting but don’t own was making the second option vanish from the browser. Now it sticks around.
