Notable Bug Fixes

Direct Challenge: This build includes additional hardening and improvements for Direct Challenge stability. We are still unsure if this solves all of the problems, but it will certainly help us investigate further. Work continues on this problem, and it will until the issue is resolved

 

General

  • Per recent Pioneer bans, Karn, the Great Creator and Geological Appraiser are banned in Explorer. See the announcement article for more information
  • Players will no longer directly drop into the Color Challenge after completing the first five matches. Instead, they'll be presented with a series of options for ways to play so they can more easily learn how they like to play Magic!
  • In an effort to best teach Magic, we’ve rolled out support for providing new players with different variations of how we introduce them to the game. As we iterate on these efforts, we'll be sure players in different experiences continue to have access to the same rewards so no-one misses out.

Gameplay

  • Cards with Intensity have been updated to a new template. Fewer words!
  • Brazen Boarding's face hangers (that's the pictures of other cards or sides of a card that pop up on mouse over) show the cards it conjures in mana value order. Hopefully this makes it easier to see what happens for a given value.
  • Deepfathom Echo has a more streamlined prompt now.

Bug Fixes

General

  • Fixed a bug where leaving and returning to an active player draft could leave you without new packs updating properly
  • Fixed a bug where the “Reveal All” text in pack opening did not show up properly in all languages

Gameplay

  • The Grim Captain has become slightly less picky (and more rules correct), and will now happily consume multiple changelings to craft from the throne
  • Fixed a bug where non-token copies of Talion, the Kindly Lord would not get a badge for the chosen number
  • Malcolm, that Alluring Scoundrel, will no longer show counters with the very helpful name “PlaceholderSubType427”, and will instead show “Chorus Counter” as intended
